Audition for Waiting for Godot

Eden Prairie Players is holding Auditions for our Summer Musical!

Waiting for Godot

Directed by Stephen Houtz

Since it first hatched in 1993, Stiles & Drewe's musical, Honk!, has winged its way around the world in over 8,000 productions and in many different languages. Winner of multiple awards, including the 2000 Olivier Award for Best Musical, this heartwarming celebration of being different is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit and memorable score.

Honk! is a free, donation-supported, outdoor production that is presented at the Staring Lake Amphitheater in Eden Prairie.

Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, March 14 and 15, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We will open at 6:30 PM to begin checking people in. Auditioners will be seen in the order they arrive, but you can come any time until 8:30 PM.

We do not set appointments for auditions.

Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Thursday, March 16.

Auditions are held at Eden Prairie's Central Middle School, 8025 School Road (Map).

Park in the lot at the end of School Road, enter through the main entrance, and walk straight down the hall all the way to the back of the building. Signs will be posted in the lobby.

Adults and children aged 10 and up (as of the date of the first rehearsal, April 24) are welcome to audition for roles in the show. There are ensemble parts for children and adults. There are featured and lead roles available for ages 15 and up.

Auditions will have dance and vocal components, including both reading and singing.

Prepare 16 measures of a "traditional" show tune. Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. No a cappella.

No preparation is required for the reading portion of the audition. We will supply material, or you can bring a short (less than a minute) monologue if you prefer.

Dress for movement. The dance portion is done in small groups.

Brianna Belland, our choreographer, has prepared videos of the dance combinations that will be used in auditions. She will teach these combinations in the auditions, so it is not required to view these, memorize these, or prepare them in advance. But for those who would like to, you can view them on the Honk! Dance Audition Playlist.
